Visiting Google

On Monday, Janet invited Alice and I to visit her at work. Google is one of those places that I've always wanted to see, but you can only visit if you know an employee. It reminded me so much of college. All the people sitting around casually in coffee shops or chatting with each other on the grass outside the cafeterias. I'm jealous.

They had a ball pit. I mean what more can you ask for?

Who's seen this driving around?

There was someone behind the wheel, so not really sure if it was self-driving.

Alice and I enjoying some freshly made juice while waiting for Janet.

I want one of these chairs! But where to put it??!

I wish these statues aren't all spread out, but these are much bigger than I thought.

The eyes change color!

Anyone visited Google before? In the Bay Area or other countries??

Music Mondays

January is almost over. I feel like lots of things happened this month, but I'm feeling excited. This Monday, I took a day off and we're going to visit Google! I'll have a blog post about that later this week! Enjoy the music this week! :D

Occasionally, YouTube singers make an original song that I love and this song is so upbeat and catchy!

What is it about British boy bands that I love so much?

Love her voice and her music!

LORAC Nude Skinny Palette

This palette was so difficult to find. I searched every website and was always so close, but it was always sold out. The LORAC Skinny Palette retails for a whopping $15.00 USD. SUCH A GOOD DEAL.  The packaging, as suggested by the name, is very skinny. Perfect for traveling or for touch ups.
You get seven shades of warm neutrals ranging from pale to dark. It's easy to create a simple daytime look or you can do a smokey eye too. All these colors are good quality shadows, like all LORAC palettes. The wear time for these are at least 7 hours.

The colors don't have names, so I'll try to describe the colors going from left to right.

#1 is a matte, pale, white beige. It's my least favorite color of the bunch, but the color can be used on the brow bone for highlighting.

#2 is a shimmery golden copper. One of the two metallic finishes in this palette. Intensely pigmented, the texture is buttery soft as well.

#3 is a matte, light tan color. Probably the most buildable and blendable color.

#4 is a matte, dark brown. Not a standout color, but the pigment is good.

#5 is my favorite of them all. An orange, copper with a metallic finish. Amazing color payoff with a soft texture.

#6 is a medium golden brown with a metallic finish. Good pigmentation and easy to blend.

#7 is a dark, burgundy brown. Mostly matte with some sparkles. Color payoff was the worst, but the texture was still super soft.

Has anyone tried this palette yet? :)

*If you're looking to purchase this, try Nordstrom Rack or Zappos.com, which is where I bought mine.

Chop Bar

It is currently Restaurant week! I wish I could try out all the restaurants, but that would be quite expensive. Chop Bar has been on my to try list for a couple years. This rustic feeling gastropub is located near Jack London Square in Oakland. The place isn't very big, super cozy with a nice ambiance. Definitely come here early to beat the rush. My friends and I all got the prix fix menu, which came with an appetizer, main course, dessert, and a glass of wine.  Overall, the food and service was excellent. I can't wait to come back again and try their pig roasts!

check them out on Yelp: Chop Bar

butternut squash, walnut pesto soup

pork confit served with red flint polenta, kale, pork jus

butternut squash risotto

meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes, gravy and brussel sprouts (my favorite dish out of the three)

fruit crisp with vanilla gelato

Music Mondays

My company had it's annual inventory count last week and I had to work a little bit on Sunday too. It's been so crazy at work lately. But music always puts me in a better mood. Here's to Monday.

Such a cute concept for this video and the song is really catchy too.

I love the ending of this video.

Kind of miss listening to EDM, but this song is pretty good.

Music Mondays

The first week of 2015 is over. Time seems to move faster as you get older. I had a couple days this weekend to just relax at home and watch movies and shows. I hope you all have a good Monday!

I was going through my music and found that I had this song, which means I listened to James Bay months ago, but didn't notice. Love the lyrics and his voice.

Ellie Goulding's voice is much more powerful in this song, it's beautiful.

I don't see why so many people are against this music video, people are making it more controversial than it was meant to be. You can feel all the emotions in this song.

Fried Chicken Anyone?

I need to bring my camera out with me more often, it takes the best food pictures. Haven't been posting enough lately and wanted to share a couple snaps with you all. Food is the one thing that I'm always excited about. If I could, I would try out a new restaurant every day, but that's a bit excessive (or is it?).

Their most famous dish: cornmeal waffles and buttermilk fried chicken with apple cider syrup. Be prepared to wait for this place, especially on the weekend. It was worth it though. The portions were just right and the cornmeal waffles were delicious, chicken was just crispy enough with the right seasonings.

I got the Lobster Pork Ramen per recommendations on Yelp. The wait was crazy at this place. But ramen is so perfect for a cold winter day. This was some of the best ramen I've ever had.

If anyone is ever in the area, definitely try out these two places! I'll try to post more food pictures, I think I like writing lifestyle posts more than makeup ones sometimes. :)

Music Mondays

Did everyone have a good start to the new year? I had another four day weekend, it's going to be brutal at work today. I apologize about the lack of posts, but friends and family have come first lately. Happy Monday and Happy new year! :D

I hope they never break up, that would be so sad. Love this song and this couple!

Very touching video.

I found this artist through Tanya Burr because she always puts him in her favorites video. His voice is very unique.
